What OzCrypt can do

Built for local-first protected packages

Choose the flow that fits what you want to protect, then keep the resulting package local to your device or backups.

Quick Lock

Use a password-first workflow for notes, files, and private attachments.

Time Capsule

Add a local time window as a soft opening rule on top of stronger factors.

Puzzle Lock

Use a question and answer as an extra unlock factor without storing the answer.

Gesture Lock

Require a remembered gesture, including 3x3, 4x4, or 5x5 grids.

File Key Lock

Require the exact key file later without storing the key-file hash in metadata.

Multi-file Package

Pack several files into one encrypted OZP1-based .ozc package.

Encrypted Text Block

Copy or paste the same OZC1 package as a BEGIN/END OZCRYPT text block.

Advanced Protection

Use Single Lock by default, or move into Multi-Password AND and Partner Lock OR when you need them.

Common examples

Typical OzCrypt tasks

  • Encrypt a short private note and copy the encrypted text block.
  • Encrypt a single file into an .ozc package and download it locally.
  • Create a time capsule with a password plus a local time window.
  • Use a file key lock when you want the exact key file to be required later.
Protection note

Strong factors and soft policy locks are different

Passwords, partner passwords, and key files contribute to strong cryptographic protection. Local time and environment checks are softer controls because device state can be changed.

OzCrypt cannot recover lost secrets. Test decryption before deleting original files.

Local-first

Your files stay in the browser workflow

  • Files and text are processed locally in the browser.
  • Nothing is uploaded to OzCrypt.
  • Passwords, answers, gestures, and key files are not stored in public metadata.
  • For sensitive content, prefer a trusted device and keep separate backups.

Security notes and format docs
